Summary: "I Love It!"
If you like Phoenix and have not listened to this album, then download it right now! This early album contains a number of hidden gems featuring unexpected instrumentals and provocative vocals. It does not really get any better than this right here; I love it!!!

Summary: "LOVE this album!"
I bought this album because I like their new album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and I love this album. Its a little bit different sound but I wasn't disappointed.

Summary: "Solid Album"
Toned down compared to their latest album. Just saw them in concert last night. Amazing performance. "Everything is everything" is a strong song on this album, but hearing it acoustic is even better. Overall, solid effort.

Summary: "It definitely grew on me"
Really good album. At first, I thought it was a little cheesy, but then I realized that this album was recorded all old school seventies style. Most of the instruments recorded are all acoustic and a few of the songs definitely have an ever so slight 70's feel to them. Plus, any band that does odd time signatures in their songs scores major brownie points with me.

Summary: "No edge....Not a huge problem"
A bit down the page one user remarked how this album is missing that ever elusive "edge". I'm not so sure that Pheonix are aiming for any edge, I would venture to say that they are going for something "smooth". To me, these guys seem pretty deliberate with their delivery, and their lead singer, Thomas Mars, is good at what he does regardless of whether you like it or not. His voice is the aural equivalent of velour. By that I mean smooth and cheesy at times, but very pleasing. You must judge things in context. I wouldn't like his voice in anything rock or folky, but when you are listening to this mellow, laid back sort of funk, it is pure gold.
I like this album a lot and I absolutely love their newest album.
